In a recent survey by the charity Retail Trust, it shows that one in four, that is roughly a quarter of Brits use shopping as a means to relieve stress, with little or no regard to their ever increasing personal debts, with 40% of the 18-24 year old bracket being the most likely of the age ranges to do so.

It is estimated that an average Briton will spend a staggering £157,530 during their life on their credit cards. This research has been conducted by life assistance company CPP and shows us that British consumers are increasing their expenditure on their credit cards. Taking these figures alone they project that overall, UK citizens en mass will accrue an incredible £5.25trillion.

Already in Japan, it was only a matter of time before the first contact-less credit cards were introduced into the UK. It is Barclaycard that are first set to introduce these cards and they are set to revolutionise the way in which we pay for smaller purchases.
